Kalutan ed Mangaldan (Mangaldan's grilling place)

One of the undeniable traits for us Filipinos is our love to eat especially inihaws sometimes when you go to a certain barangay you will notice that in every corner of the street there are vendors of grilled (inihaw); isaw, betamax, helmet, adidas etc. Aminin You will miss half of your life if you haven't even tried one of these foods sold in the street or commonly called "Streetfoods".

Have you ever experienced craving for these foods you don't usually eat and when you go to the place where there are inihaws you stop for a moment and you hesitate to eat for the reason of the place, ambience, or the food that it may give you food causing disease such as Typhoid fever, Cholera, or even Hepatitis A examples of disease acquired from unsanitary prepared foods.

Ehem...Ehem...I might help you to remove all those worries and eat at your fullest for these foods. There's a place in Mangaldan which I can call as an answer to your cravings, How did I found out about it?. Well when I was riding my motorcycle I usually don't use main roads but instead I use alternative routes for the sake of "IWAS TRAFFIC" well common traits of motorcycle riders.

The name of the Place is "Mila's Kalutan" formerly known as Mila's dine. It is located at Guleya st. Poblacion, Mangaldan, Pangasinan. the landmark of this place is turn right in the intersection right after CSI Mangaldan. They are open from 4:30 pm to 10:00pm daily so if you plan to go in the morning I advise you to wait till afternoon before you go. Before these place became a grilling place it was like a small canteen or a mini restaurant due to it's location business is not going well so the owner think of an strategy to make her place be known by everyone so upon thinking ng todo todo she came up with an idea. "what if i offer foods that are favorite by many but cannot be easily found in the restaurant or any canteen that's why she came up with "Mila's kalutan".
So let's start here are the MENU of Mila's kalutan First from the list:

THE "ISAW":
Most of us know what is isaw, the most common are isaw(intestines) of chicken which you can easily find if you go to market. How about you try isaw(small intestine) of pig, it is very rare to find grilled of this in the market it's more bigger that chicken's isaw at it is more juicer.Don't worry about the sanitation I assure you they washed it..:).. madam Mila doesn't think about making money, she thinks also of the health of it's customer that's why she make sure that everything that she serve are clean and free from worries when eaten. This cost 25 pesos per stick.
THE "BUTCHI"
I am sure only few have tried this one this is a rare grilled periteneom of pig it is tender when grilled it is the best if it is combined with there delicious vinegar. This cost  35 pesos.

The "ANAKAN
It was first time to encounter this certain kind of food and I assure you it's one of the best i ever tasted. It is the fallopian tube of pig when it is grilled and you soak it into there vinegar the taste of this food and vinegar it produces at little sweet and sour taste because vinegar is absorb that makes the anak juicier. This cost 35 pesos.

The "dalagang Isaw"
Have you ever knew that there are two types of isaw?. In Mila's kalutan you will know that there are two types and in this place where you can try the 2nd type the "dalagang isaw". She called it dalagang isaw for the reason that it is from fattening pigs. for the taste I leave for you to judge. this cost 25 pesos.
The "Chicharon bulaklak"
Chicharon bulaklak is well known partner for liquors am i right?. But here it can be a good partner for rice. When I eat I make sure I order one of this for pleasure. Beware, it is rich in cholesterol so don't eat too much even it is very delicious..hahaha..this cost 50 pesos good for 2 to 3 persons.
The "barbeque"
Well this is the all time favorite of many Filipino. In every occasion almost 80% of Filipinos prepare this food, the only basis of many barbeques are the taste well, al I can say is there barbeque taste great also try it on yourself also. This cost 25 pesos.

This are only few that they serve every day you can also "lasas", and also there specialty which is the combination of all there grilled products i haven't tried it yet so I can't judge the taste but one thing is sure It will taste best because they call it there specialty. For those who want also other grilled foods they have also atay, buntot, and tenga which are best for drinking session I guess.

in regarding the place they made there backyard as there place to eat and for drinking session here. It made the place beatiful because of the plants especially the millionaires vine that makes the place cooler and the table and chairs the will make you feel like your in the year 70's:

I suggest come to this place in dusk or early nightime to feel the ambience and listen to bossa nova and classic musics which makes you relax even in a short period of time in this time also where you can have chitchat with your friends but only up to 10pm..So what are you waiting for?..Invite your friends or close friends and visit and try Mila's Kalutan when you come to mangaldan.

Favorite things to do during rainy season..

During mid year in our country its the time where umbrellas, raincoats boots and other rain gears are in demand. It is the time where non stop rain occurs and uso ang cancellation of school days up to the point where kahit sa trabaho wala na din pasok kasi baha na..hahahha...happy are those who are pressured in studies and their jobs. So what are the things that we coomonly do during this rainy season?...For sure Bordedom strike if we do nothing so here are the tips to conquer boredom  during this moments:

FIRST!!

Well, during this time the most important thing to do first is SLEEPING. Our body needs a rest from the stressed jobs or studies before doing anything our body needs to be energized first. This rainy season and cancellation is what we can call as "UNEXPECTED HOLIDAY" so no assignments no worries kaya mahimbing ang tulog, so relax konti lang ang mga moments na ganyan.

SECOND!!

EAT!!!...this is the moment of truth. There is a saying that the best thing to do in life is "kumain....ng libre" at "pagusapan ang buhay......ng ibang tao". We'll to good to be true pero let's not focus on the second but on the word FOOD. LIbre ang pagkain during this time, Nanay is in the house or anyone who can cook your favorite dishes forget the word "DIET" instead eat without hesitation. I assure you it will make you happy. For those who stay in a boarding house time to shine malay mo you have talent in cooking..

THIRD!!

Play!!...This doesn't mean go outside and play..Umuulan so wala rin magkakasakit ka lang..hahaha.. This means be child again I know all of us have the most favorite hobbies when we are alone it can be playing guitars, writing a poems, telebabads, surfing the internet, movie marathon, or TSISMIS. Let's admit that nowadays in a family being together and talking about anything in one place is alraedy "Once in a blue moon moment" so talking with your loveones is already considered PLAYTIME. Mya kuryente man o wala well believe me sobrang ikli ng oras if you started a conversation lalo na kung masaya at nonsense its a form of making family bonds stronger. Well if they are not around play your favorite games tulad ng usong games na hindi mamatay matay na....DOTA..

FOURTH!!!

Read or watch news...Naimportante niti in terms of heavy rains or unexpected holiday. You must be aware of what is happening kahit papano. When you are reading or watching during this time you will find it interesting may for the reason that you want to know if your holiday is extended or not or your worried to your friends or loveones affected by heavy rains. Well at least you have watched news that you find boring during sunny days..hehehe..reading and watching news will surely increase your general knowledge so i suggest find time even a little.

FIFTH!!!

Prepare...There's a saying "daig ng maagap ang masikap" meaning its better to be prepared even though there is a small possibliity of calamaty in your place. This doesn't mean prepapare for evacuation..NO NO No this only mean na charge your phone or any means of communication device, have na extra batteries for flashlights if in case powersupply is cut stock some food becuase you will need it malamig kailangan ng katawan na mag generate na heat na manggagaling sa pagkain kya tiyak gugutumin ka..hehehe..

And this are the things that you can do during your unexpected holidays. For sure there are others things that we can do and these are only the basics well atleast you have a guidelines..Enjoy and happy unexpected vacation..

the rain that never stops..

I f we compare what we have experienced last week (august 6 - 10 2012) it is more fearful than any typhoon that we have experienced so far this year and it is only at MONSOON RAIN what more if may kasamang bagyo tiyak maraming dedo...Well not necessarily Pangasinan is greatly affected compared to Manila pangasinan rain is nothing. I went to Manila last week august 6 goodthing I traveled afternoon because 10 pm rain didn't stop to fall in Manila and it is not an ordinary rain as what i experienced it fells like I'm in pagsanjan falls because of the zero visibility on the road. The rain didn't stop up to august 9 and that is the reason why manila was flooded. Good thing i arrived early because if not i'm gonna be sleeping in NLEX which is the most uncomfortable place if ever..hehehe..When I was there one thing I observed is the well known Filipino traits, they still smile even though the rain never stops and as i walk going to a higher area in manila which is our place I heard people talking as if they are bragging that they house are flooded and they laugh after there conversation. This trait should never be removed or erased to us Filipinos because trials will continue to pass in our lives no one is exempted. Lets stand straight and with a great smile we can face any situations that we encounter...Let's just look on the bright side of any problems..
